FRED RITSEMA
Mr. Ritsema has been listed in the Best Lawyers in America since 1997. He has been listed by 5280 magazine as one of "Denver's Top Lawyers." Mr. Ritsema was named "Outstanding Respondent Lawyer" for 2002 by the Professionals in Workers' Compensation. Law Week Colorado named him a "Best Lawyer 2006." Mr. Ritsema has been a Colorado "Super Lawyer" since 2005, and in 2007 was inducted into the College of Workers' Compensation Attorneys. Mr. Ritsema has been practicing in the area of workers' compensation defense since 1976. Between 1976 and 1984 he also performed civil trial work and during that time tried more than twenty jury trials. His practice has been limited to workers' compensation since 1984. Together with seven other partners, Mr. Ritsema founded Ritsema & Lyon in December 1993. He has drafted legislation and testified numerous times at the legislature regarding pending workers' compensation legislation. Mr. Ritsema is on the executive committee of the National Workers' Compensation Defense Network. Mr. Ritsema is president of the Board of the Foundation for Volunteers in Action; he is a member of the Board and on the executive committee of the Christian Living Communities, and is past president of the Board of Trustees of the Denver Christian Schools.
