Ms. Lyon specializes in workers’ compensation defense, an area of law on which she has focused since 1984. She enjoys the long-standing client relationships she has developed, which enhances problem solving on her clients’ behalf through mutual respect and idea exchange with them. Ms. Lyon is active on every front in workers’ compensation issues.

A Colorado native, she is recognized locally and nationally as an authority in the field and has been instrumental in shaping Colorado state legislation that governs employers and their workers. She served on a Task Force in 1989 appointed by Joe Donlon, the Executive Director of the Department of Labor and Employment, to complete a redraft of the Colorado Workers’ Compensation Act. Ms. Lyon served on task forces appointed by the National Council on Compensation Insurance and Director, Bob Summers.

Active in the legal community, Ms. Lyon has twice served as the Chairperson of the Workers' Compensation Section of the Colorado Bar Association and served on the Executive Committee 1990-1999 and 2001 to present. She also has served as co-chair of the Workers’ Compensation Section of the Colorado Defense Lawyers Association and on the Executive Board for Professionals in Workers’ Compensation. Ms. Lyon is a 1982 graduate of the University of Colorado School of Law. Ms. Lyon was recognized as a Colorado Super Lawyer in 2007 and 2008. She was honored to receive the Lance Butler award for outstanding service to the workers' compensation community in 2007. Ms. Lyon practices in our Denver office.
