Ms. Dafoe joined Ritsema and Lyon as a nurse in 2005 working in the Medicare Set-Aside area preparing cost projections. She became an associate attorney in 2007, continuing work in the Medicare Set-Aside area. Prior to joining Ritsema & Lyon, Ms. Dafoe had worked in the main operating room of Swedish Medical Center, a Level I trauma center in Denver. This experience provided Ms. Dafoe significant expertise regarding what is involved in a procedure and what procedures typically cost.

Ms. Dafoe received a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Michigan in 1975 and a J.D. from the University of Denver in 1985, the same year she was admitted to the Colorado Bar. She took an early retirement to raise her two children, during which time she was involved in and served on the boards of many community, school, music, and church organizations and returned full time to the working world when her oldest child left for college in 2002. Ms. Dafoe continues to be active in her community choir, church choir, tennis playing, and playing organ, as well as devoting her best efforts and the majority of her time to Ritsema & Lyon’s clients.
