BRET J. ROUNDY
Mr. Roundy is a litigation attorney, focusing his practice on the defense of workers' compensation claims before the Colorado Department of Workers' Compensation, appeals of matters from the administrative process through the Colorado Industrial Claims Appeals Panel, and, if necessary, the Colorado Court of Appeals. Mr. Roundy defends the interests of self-insurers, employers and insurance companies. Additionally, he has experience in pursuing monies for clients in connection with third-party subrogation matters. Mr. Roundy has litigated several trials to the jury and to the bench. Matters included criminal, personal injury, motor vehicle and premise liability issues. Mr. Roundy takes a "customer (client)-service"/cost containment approach to the practice of law. Mr. Roundy understands that litigation is expensive, and at times, settlement is the best option. When litigation occurs, Mr. Roundy uses his experience as a trial attorney to effectively resolve matters. Prior to joining Ritsema & Lyon, P.C., Mr. Roundy worked as an attorney at a Denver area personal injury law firm; as a Deputy District Attorney in the 14th Judicial District, where he prosecuted criminal matters in both county and district courts; as a claimant's attorney in a workers' compensation law firm and as a defense attorney in a Denver workers' compensation/subrogation practice. Mr. Roundy received his undergraduate degree in English Literature/Classical Rhetoric from The Ohio State University. In 2002, Mr. Roundy received his law degree from the University of Denver, College of Law. BRET J. ROUNDY can be reached at 303.675.4400 or roundyb@ritsema-lyon.com |
